Acceptable Use Policy
TrueAcre is a marketplace for verified Indian farmland. To keep it safe and useful for everyone, we have a small set of rules everyone agrees to when they use the platform. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is referenced by our Terms of Service and forms a binding part of your agreement with us.
01Who this applies to
This AUP applies to everyone who uses TrueAcre — buyers, sellers, agents, agencies, loan-partner staff, API developers, and read-only visitors. Different rules apply to different roles, but the core principles below are universal.
02Content you can post
You may post:
- Honest, accurate property listings (sellers and agents).
- Legitimate inquiries, offers, and questions (buyers).
- First-hand reviews of properties you’ve transacted on.
- Profile information that accurately describes who you are.
- Service-related communication via in-app messaging.
Content quality standards
Listings must include at minimum: an accurate survey number, current ownership documents (RTC/Patta/etc.), recent photos taken by you, and an honest description. We reject listings that fail these basic standards on submission.
03Content you must not post
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Listings for property you don’t own or don’t have authority to sell.
- Misrepresentation of size, location, water source, or legal status.
- Properties subject to active litigation without disclosing it prominently.
- Properties within reserved forest, wildlife sanctuary, or protected ecological zones.
- Properties known to be encroached or in title-defect status without disclosure.
- Pricing that includes off-platform “cash component” arrangements.
- Content that infringes copyright (especially photos taken from other listing portals).
- Content that is sexually explicit, violent, hateful, harassing or threatening.
- Personal information of others (PII) without their consent.
- Content promoting illegal activity (drugs, weapons, financial fraud, etc.).
04Conduct rules
When interacting with other users, you agree to:
- Be respectful. No harassment, slurs, or threats — ever.
- Be honest about your intent.Don’t book site visits you have no intention of attending.
- Keep money on-platform.Do not transact off-platform for deals initiated on TrueAcre. We can’t protect you if you bypass our escrow.
- Don’t poach.Agents may not contact users’ other agents to lure them to a parallel deal.
- Don’t game the system. No fake inquiries, fake reviews, fake site-visit bookings.
05Platform misuse
You may not, directly or indirectly:
- Scrape, mirror or republish TrueAcre listings on other sites without an enterprise API agreement.
- Use automated tools (bots, crawlers) to interact with the platform, except via our official API.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
- Access the platform from regions we have geo-restricted under data-residency policy.
- Probe, test or intrude on the security of the platform (see our Security page for our authorised bug-bounty programme).
- Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, manipulate ratings, or circumvent fees.
- Use TrueAcre to launder money, evade taxes, or in violation of Indian or your local law.
06Communications & spam
You may use our in-app messaging to communicate about specific listings and transactions only. You may not:
- Send unsolicited promotional messages (spam).
- Mass-message buyers/sellers you have no transactional relationship with.
- Use the platform to recruit users to other services or platforms.
- Send phishing, malware, or social-engineering messages.
WhatsApp and email integrations follow the same rules. We rate-limit outbound communications automatically and ban accounts that exceed thresholds repeatedly.
07Reporting violations
If you see content or behaviour that violates this policy, report it via:
- The “Report” button on any listing, profile, or message thread.
- Email: trust@trueacre.in
- For urgent issues (safety threats, active fraud): phone +91 80 4000 0000
Our Trust & Safety team reviews every report within 24 hours. Reporters are kept anonymous from the reported party. We do not retaliate against good-faith reports, even if they turn out to be incorrect.
08Consequences of violations
We use a tiered enforcement model:
| Severity | Examples | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Minor | Poor-quality photos, vague description | Listing rejected; explanation; resubmit |
| Moderate | Repeated minor issues, mild misrepresentation | 7-30 day suspension + retraining |
| Serious | Material misrepresentation, off-platform deal attempt | Account suspended; fees withheld; appeal allowed |
| Severe | Fraud, identity theft, forest-encroachment listing | Permanent ban; reported to authorities |
All enforcement decisions can be appealed via appeals@trueacre.in. Appeals are reviewed by a different staff member than the one who made the original decision.
09Changes to this policy
We may revise this AUP from time to time as the platform evolves. Material changes get a 30-day notice via in-app banner and email. Continued use after the change-date constitutes acceptance.
The current effective date is shown at the top of this document. Previous versions are available on request to legal@trueacre.in.
