Aadhaar OTP keeps failing — what do I do?
Most Aadhaar OTP failures come down to one thing: your mobile number isn't linked to your Aadhaar. Here's how to fix it.
The usual cause
Aadhaar OTP is sent to the mobile number registered with UIDAI — not the number you typed into TrueAcre. If you've changed your SIM since you enrolled for Aadhaar, the OTP is going to an old number.
How to fix it
- Check which number is linked. On the UIDAI portal, use "Verify Email/Mobile" to confirm what's on file.
- Visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra.Updating a mobile number requires an in-person visit; it can't be done online. Carry your Aadhaar.
- Wait for the update to propagate.Allow up to 24 hours after the update before retrying KYC on TrueAcre.
If you can't link a number
You can complete KYC using offline Aadhaar XML or DigiLocker instead of OTP. Pick "Other verification methods" on the KYC screen.
Never share your Aadhaar OTP with anyone — including someone claiming to be from TrueAcre. We never ask for it over phone or chat.
